There Is Not Any Secret Technique Or Fix Except For Integrated Effort

“If it is to be, it is up to me” the saying goes. When push comes to shove though, how many of us want to blame others and push the bill on the other person when it comes to improving our situations? Too many of us. So many want a big reward without working for it or earning it like a lottery or sweepstakes win for real. For the few who genuinely want the secret to earning it through the equivalent work, and beyond luck, it is much simpler though: It comes down to integrated effort.

What I mean by the term “integrated effort” is this: It does not come down to working harder or longer, it comes down to using our efforts in the most beneficial, realistically enriching and power controlling ways, and when we make mistakes, instead of quitting or lamenting, learn from the mistakes. Also called, “failing forward”.

Indeed, we are not owed anything, not even the skin on our bodies or realities good or otherwise. Also, we must “boot strap” or take conscious account of our own lives if we want to get anywhere good and productive in them. In life, to win the case of life, you must not feel sorry for yourself, because however hard someone seems to listen to your sad stories, there is always someone else taking the lead with integrated effort with the similar “bad background” in life meaning we have a choice to feel sorry for ourselves or get busy achieving from the ground up with the same skin and clothes we were sad in to get glad in.

I was listening to a friend today before writing this article, not talking. This friend got me thinking what real success comes down to. The “dream” is the lottery, luck and all of that “someday I will make it” stuff, and “I will get what I am owed someday”. The reality is integrated effort, “failing forward” and getting better at it until you are genuinely strong in your field. I am not saying do it until it hurts, but do it until you genuinely get it right in your soul, spirit and being. I get the real core messages of the novels and philosophy of Ayn Rand: Perfection is a mind created concept sure, but it is what you deem it genuinely to be within yourself, not outside of yourself. This is where I agree with the psychological idea of Nathaniel Branden that self-esteem is the immune system of the emotions, soul and spirit. I mean, without an honest assessment of yourself through integrated effort, how can you get anywhere? I end with this question to tell you that there is more to life and existence for us all than just a “lucky break”.
